Tortoise has a brand new shell made from a 3D printer

It was also difficult for her to right herself if she flipped over accidentally.

But this will no longer happen thanks to the ingenuity of Roger Henry.

The Colorado Technical University student managed to create a 3D cover that slides over Cleopatra’s current shell – and it only took him a few hundred hours to achieve.

‘I heard this tortoise was damaged, needed some help and it seemed like the right thing to do,’ he said.

Once the 3D shell is strapped down with Velcro, she is free to play with her mates without the fear of injury or infection.
